Glossier, the genius cult beauty brand that taps into what millennials want from their beauty (cool packaging and easy to use staples) and sends it right to their front door, may be launching more than just skincare this year.
Founder Emily Weiss, has let slip on the beauty based podcast, Fat Mascara, Glossier is currently working on and testing eyeshadow (Weiss was wearing a smokey grey-blue shade during the interview), sunscreen and, maybe most importantly, a fragrance.
Beauty editors Jennifer Goldstein and Jessica Matlin, who founded the podcast, quizzed Weiss on her fragrance preferences , to which Weiss replied, “I’m a big Le Labo and Byredo fan. I go through phases,” before adding, “we’re also working on a perfume and I can say no more than that,” Weiss teased, “But it’s f****** amazing.”
Aside from the fact we can expect a Glossier-approved eyeshadow sometime in the near future, a fragrance from the brand would seriously set the beauty brand on a path to perfection.
Could we expect the scent to take inspiration from its home of New York? Or maybe something a little more Le Labo or Byredo-esque?
Either way we’re preparing our noses for coolness.
